We are looking for an individual skilled on payroll, employment standards, and company policies to oversee and administer all related tasks in these categories and help us to continue to grow our dynamic company. This person must be confident in these fields and able to answer questions and make recommendations. This person will need to enjoy challenges as researching, recommending, and implementing a new electronic payroll process will be part of the role. We need somebody who is driven, highly organized, and committed to research and education to stay up to date on these topics. This person will have exceptional communication skills, enjoy talking to people, and can articulate payroll topics clearly. Ideally this person will also have some accounting knowledge and could assist with other accounting tasks such data entry, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

This position is new and will change and grow with the right person. As such, we are looking for somebody with flexibility to grow with us. Position will start at 3-hour days, four days per week. (Monday-Thursday)

Job Responsibilities:

Payroll Technical

– Payroll review and oversight

– Answer all payroll and employment standards questions

– Keep up to date with changing legislation

– Maintain employee records

– Submit payroll deductions

– Vacation calculations

– Annual T4’s

– Annual T2200’s

– Standby charge calculations & related documentation

– Complete employment letters & ROE’s

– Payroll onboarding of new staff

– Payroll for exiting staff

– All other payroll related tasks

Implement New Electronic Payroll Process

Responsible for all aspects of Benefits Administration

Responsible for all aspects of Pension Administration

Responsible for all aspects WCB Administration

Employee & Family Assistance Plan Champion

Coordinate Available Government Grants

Review Company Policies & Handbook Maintenance

Assistance with Accounting Tasks (as needed)

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 16 per week

Experience:

  • Payroll: 3 years (required)
  • Administrative: 3 years (required)
